Nice suit, Blake. Can we officially consider that your new uniform?

… the Clippers just suck.  And have bad luck.  And bad karma.  And a shitty team.  And a racist, stingy owner.  And no fan support.  And no stadium of their own.  I think it’s about time the Clippers are officially bestowed the title “Worst Sports Franchise on Earth.”

In case you didn’t hear, the Clippers number one overall draft pick and former college basketball player of the year, Blake Griffin, has to have surgery on a fractured left knee cap that he injured in the preseason and will now miss the entire season.  Griffin looked like he was going to be a superstar coming out of college, averaging 22 and 14 for Oklahoma, and was having a great preseason before getting hurt.  There hasn’t been anyone to come into the league with his combination of power, speed, and agility since LeBron James.  With his size, strength, and athleticism Griffin should be able to recover and get back to doing vicious dunks in people’s faces by next year.  And the Clippers can look to players like Amare Stoudamire for hope that Griffin will come through his injuries with the same explosiveness that he had before.  But the Clippers and their fans are, I’m sure, reminded of the last college player of the year and number one overall that they drafted.  Danny Manning was supposed to be a superstar, but he blew out his knee in his rookie year and was never the same.  He still made two All-Star teams, but never reached the potential that he had out of college.  I’m gonna take a guess and say that the Clippers are ignoring that precedent and are instead focusing on the Amare Stoudamire scenario.  And as much fun as it is to rip on the Clippers and their incompetence, I’m hoping for that too.  This guy is a stunning athlete, and would be a lot of fun to watch if he got back to his usual self.  Good luck, Blake.  Hopefully we’ll see more of this next year:
