Pedro will throw an old man to the ground for a shot at the title. You're next, Torre.
So game one of the NLCS was last night, and the Phillies won. Cole Hammels outlasted Clayton Kershaw, who seems to be tiring down the stretch (as I predicted in the video below). The Dodgers had 14 hits to the Phillies 8, which is a misleading stat considering that Kershaw and company walked a ton of batters who were on base when it came time for Raul Ibanez, Ryan Howard, and the rest to drive them home. It was an offensive explosion on both sides that featured two home runs for the Dodgers despite their loss.
Today, the Phillies will test JD’s theory (also expressed in the said video) that Pedro will be the key to the Phillies winning it all. Pedro returns to Chavez Ravine where he started his career to try to put the Phills up 2-0.

First of all, Kershaw isn’t tiring down the stretch. Torre simply had a huge brain fart in forgetting to pull him after the psuedo-strikeout of Ryan Howard when Kershaw was already half way to the dugout before realizing the umpire called the pitch a ball. After that, he couldn’t get out of his own head and was completely flustered.
And second, Pedro as great as the future Hall of Famer is, won’t be key to winning bupkiss! Get ready as the World Series is about to weigh in on the East Coast – West Coast rivalry!
Verdict: chalk up another round for the East Coast. If the loaded Yankees don’t win it all, EVERYONE IS FIRED!!! Including George Steinbrenner!
