So my friend Dave is a friend of the Raiders, and with all the crazy news surrounding his team (from the coach punching an assistant in the face to the ongoing saga of their undead owner) I decided to talk to him about his beloved franchise prior to the start of the ‘09 season.
[note: since this conversation took place, Nnamdi Asomugha has suffered a chipped bone in his wrist, and was innitially expected to miss the first two weeks, but has since had his prognosis upgraded and will start in week 1]

McFadden was runner up for the Heisman two years in a row. That guy’s got potential. I think they were expecting something similar to Adrian Peterson’s rookie season — which didn’t happen — but they’ve got to be happy he’s there. I still contend JaMarcus Russell is a bum. I’ve been saying it since before they drafted him and nothing has convinced me to change my opinion now.
