As a Giants fan, I have the utmost respect for the former Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator. For years, he has ordered his gang of green-winged helmets after Giants’ quarterbacks. His blitz packages were bountiful, his defensive schemes puzzling, and, from what I hear, he was a really cool guy, too. My family and I have this running joke in which whenever the camera would show Johnson, we would prepare our best Mickey from Rocky voice and yell: “I’ll tell ya what we’re gonna do, we’re gonna blitz’em!” I’m going to miss doing that.
